Our subconscious drives us to re-create our childhood psychological
dynamics in an attempt to heal the central wounds we carry.
This seminar will be utilizing a variety of creative activities
to teach couples and singles desiring an intimate union
to identify their defenses against intimacy and to understand
the subconscious forces that influence partner selection
and contribute toward harmonious relationships.
You will learn to:
- Identify frustrations
rooted in primitive and illusory ideas of one's love partner
- Recognize the
influence of your parents in shaping your view of intimacy
and relationships
- Discover how
the subconscious forces that attract you to your potential
partners are also the
source of
conflict.
- Understand the
non-verbal sexual messages we have received in childhood
- Embrace intimacy
as a powerful tool
- Recognizing the
failure of archaic behavior to gratify needs and achieve
self-completion
- Perceive your
partner realistically without the encumbrance of subconscious
projections
- Use new skills
to change hurtful behavior, in the course of which
partners consciously
aim to meet one another's
needs and thereby restore the lost and denied parts of themselves
A core skill is a three-part dialogue that breaks couples
out of defensive and symbiotic relating and promotes
differentiation and compassion for the other.
Therapy is ultimately made obsolete as each partner
becomes a skilled advocate and "container" for the other's
growth process.
To facilitate the process we will use a variety of
creative and innovative therapeutic techniques: Transactional
Hypnoanalysis, visualization, inner dialogue, psychodrama,
movement and
other tools appropriate to the group process.
