| Case Study Guidelines
Students will need to present their case studies in the following
way to enable us to give effective feedback and to help you
improve on them each month.
Weekend 1
Please write your case studies with the following headings:
Client’s background information. (Data gathering etc.)
Presenting problem. (I.e. Stress)
Hypnotic intervention used, from skills learnt so far - please
write verbatim.
Critical Evaluation of the session. This includes:
- How did your
client feel?
- How did you feel?
- How could you do it differently next time?
- What did you learn?
Weekend 2
Please write your case studies with the following headings:

Weekend 3

Weekend 4
Please write your case studies with the following headings.
Clients background information.
Presenting problem. (Stress)
Underlying problem.
Counselling skills used, from Stage 1, 2 and 3 skills.
Hypnotic intervention used, from skills learnt so far.
Critical Evaluation of the session. This includes:

- How could you do it differently next time?
- What did you learn?
After this you should continue writing case studies following
the Weekend 4 format. Once you have written the hypnotic intervention
and the tutor has given you feedback that they are happy that
you are using it properly, there is no need to continue writing
it verbatim in every case study, but rather just make a note
of what intervention you have used.
It is likely as you progress through the course that, towards
the end, the Critical Evaluation will make up a major part
of the case study rather than the content of the session itself.
There are some case study examples from both Foundation and
Diploma courses available on the web site. Please remember
that these are guidelines only, and each student is encouraged
to adapt and bring their own
style to these case studies, provided all relevant areas
